Those with disabilities often get forgotten but Dave and Jean Angus are starting a new Group for those with disabilities called “Disability Amble Walking Group”. The idea is that those with wheelchairs / mobility scooters / wheelie walkers or walking sticks can join and their Partner of course.
- It will be just a short circular walk on flat ground, using Parks or Country Parks and initially we will run from April – October annually in the hope of ensuring we walk in slightly better weather. It is advised that those with wheelchairs bring their Carer with them, transport is not provided we will meet up at the appointed venues. We will meet on the second Wednesday of each month at 10.30am and each month details of the location will be emailed direct to all those who have decided to join the Group direct. The location will always have a café so that we can have tea / coffee refreshments and a chat at the end of the walk that is expected to be completed by 12noon-12.30pm to include refreshments that Group Members will pay for themselves.
- Our first Amble Walk will be on Wednesday 8th April at 10.30am and then every second Wednesday of each month. Those interested will be notified of the different locations each month direct. If Members are interested in joining the Group could they please email Dave and Jean to let them know and have their details recorded as a Group Member together with their Carer, They will then receive a confirmation that they are booked in to join the Group and details of the Amble Walk planned for April. We look forward to hearing from Members.
If any Stanford-le-Hope and District u3a Members would like to join and have their details added to the list, please email Dave and Jean Angus by clicking on the coloured text.
