Speaker Thursday 9th January

Our speaker on Thursday 9th January 2025 is Lindsey Barrell. Lindsey’s talk is called, 'Burlesque, Me and the WI’ Lindsey does a fabulously funny and heart-warming talk that covers how she discovered burlesque, and then the WI, and brought the two worlds together.

From empty nest to huge success, and via dance classes and craft sessions,

Lindsey will take you on a journey that a lot of us can relate to. This is a humorous talk that illustrates how even the most diverse of topics can epitomise the Fun, Friendship and Education ethos of the WI.

New Trip

MEET THE BAKER - 19th February '25

This trip has proven to be very popular with our members!

On the way to the bakery we will be stopping for a break at Van Hage Garden Centre. I'm certain that you will find this to be more than a garden centre; it offers a quality shopping and leisure experience as well as an excellent café.

The Meet the Baker experience includes an interesting talk and demonstrations with a Ploughman's Lunch followed by tea or coffee and a slice of cake. All guests will have the opportunity to browse the bakery and its wonderful artisan loaves etc..

Please can we request that everyone makes a note of their coach seat numbers as you will receive a complimentary small white cob as a gift to take home. To make life easier for us the bakery will leave this on your seat together with any other purchases that you may wish to make.

This trip will be on Wednesday 19th February with the opportunity for a further date on Tuesday 25th February should this be necessary.

The cost of this trip is £45 per head. This includes (the Coach, Entry, Lunch and Drivers Tip)

The Pick-up time will be :- Lampits Hill 9:00, The Springhouse Club 9:10 and The Oak 9:20

Tickets will be available from Christine Gomm and Jean Jardine at our January General meeting from 1:30. We accept Cash or Cheques payable to "SLH U3A"
