We are to be entertained at our General Meeting on 14 August 2025.The Ladybirds Song Group are coming to our General Meeting on Thursday 14th August to entertain us. Based in Essex, the Ladybirds Song Group sing at clubs and organisations across the area. They sing all popular songs from many decades from the 40s onwards. They also give to a different charity each month. Last year they donated a total of £4,500 to 25 charities.

Committee Nominations
At each AGM the current Executive Committee stand down and a new committee is elected. We have received 15 nominations for the Executive Committee for 2025/2026.
These include nominations for the four officer posts which are Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary and Treasurer, as follows: -

Vice-Chair: Danni Tate
Secretary: Janet Deeney
Treasurer: Mel Fox
The remaining nominations to the Executive Committee are:
Sue Green, Sandra Isaacson, Marilyn Edgings, Eileen Drewer, Susan Moss,
Pam Tate, Chris Henderson, Michael Farman, Sue Dunn, Dick Fox and Jean Angus.
Our current Treasurer, Paul Brice, is standing down after 9 years on the committee. Mel Fox has stepped up to the plate and agreed to be nominated as Treasurer for 2025/2026. Additional new nominations are for Michael Farman and Jean Angus.

Curry Night Our next curry night will be a banquet meal at Zaals Restaurant, Lampits Hill, Corringham at 6.0pm on Thursday 11th September, @ £18pp. The restaurant prefers cash payments. Please let Tina know if you are interested.

Tickets on sale for Windsor Town and Castle. Price £48 per person which includes entrance to the castle.
Windsor Castle is the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world. It is open to visitors throughout the year. Founded by William the Conqueror in the 11th century, it has since been the home of 39 monarchs. Start your day with a tour of the Castle Precincts, admire the intricate gothic architecture of St George's Chapel, where the wedding of the Sussexes (Harry and Meghan)and of course, our late Queen's internment took place and then explore the glorious State Apartments, which are used to host official visits. Your entry ticket for the Castle and St. George's Chapel is included in the price.(Head to the Chapel first due to restricted hours).
