Interest Groups Online

Interest Groups Online (formerly Trust u3a) is an online u3a community that gives you the opportunity to join groups, talks and courses from the comfort of your home.

Like with a u3a, the activities are run by members and are a great way to meet people from all across the u3a movement.

It costs £12 to join for the year, equating to £1 per month. Membership runs from 1 April to 31 March of the next year. After 1 October, it costs £6 to join until 31 March next year. You will need to complete a short form to join and once you are a member you can choose your groups via the Beacon Members Portal. As part of your subscription to Interest Groups Online, you can opt in to receive a free copy of the u3a magazine, u3amatters.

East Of England Region

u3a is a UK-wide collection of 1000+ charities that provide the opportunity for those no longer in work to come together and learn for fun. It has more than 430,000 members exploring new ideas, skills and interests.

The Stanford le Hope and District u3a, is one of the charities located in Essex. We are also part of the East of England Region. Our region includes the six counties of Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire and has around 140 u3a's.

We are a very diverse region, from isolated rural villages to city metropolis, from agriculture to service industry, manufacturing to technology and the people are excitingly diverse too. We have 6 Universities within our region including Cambridge, Anglia Ruskin, Essex, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and East Anglia.
