INTEREST GROUP ACCOUNTS.
Please use the account forms above and on the right to record and submit your group accounts to the Treasurer. We have provided an example account sheet to help.
Some of the forms are in a PDF (Portable Document Format) so they display in a similar fashion on most computers and tablets.
If you down load the EXCEL version, you can open them on your computer using the Microsoft programme EXCEL, or similar and then fill in the details on your computer. You can save the file each time you add information and print it off when required for the treasurer. This has the advantage of automatically adding up the figures at the bottom of the sheet and will keep a running total of your expenses
- Interim accounts from interest groups should be sent to the Treasurer by the following dates:
| 30th June | |
| 30th September | |
| 31st December | |
| 31st March |
- Nil returns are required from those groups not handling money.
- Hospitality accounts should not be submitted.
- Treasurer will provide assistance if group leaders have difficulty drawing up their accounts.

PAYING FOR REFRESHMENTS AT INTEREST GROUP MEETINGS
There are two different situations:
Hospitality is paying towards the cost of refreshments provided for an Interest Group in the dwelling of a member usually the Interest Group leader. The money collected for these refreshments is not accounted for and information about it does not go to the Treasurer. (The reason for this is that it is assumed the payments are to replace the householder's own food and drink that they have used for the group hospitality.) There is no limit.
If an Interest Group hires a hall and the group collects money to pay for refreshments then this money does have to be recorded and information eventually passed onto the Treasurer. This is because it is assumed that the refreshments will have been bought especially for the group. There is a £50 float limit but there are easy and approved ways of getting around that if the amount collected and retained starts to get towards that limit.
