The cost will be a very attractive £20 as we have gained free entry to this English Heritage site as a u3a educational visit.
Audley End is a Jacobean country house with beautiful gardens and an interesting past to discover during the tour of the Mansion.
There is also a special exhibition –‘From Monastery to Mansion: Power, Portraiture And Ambition’.
Marking 400 years since the death of Thomas Howard - The man responsible for building Audley End in the early seventeenth century.
There are stables and a second hand bookshop to visit, acres of parklands to wander and if you fancy giving their new adventure playground a whirl …..well just take care!
There are two places where you can eat-
The Cartyard Cafe for light snacks or The Servants Hall Tearoom where you can enjoy a more substantial meal.
