The members agreed to be hall based until a member comes forward to arrange visits to places of Local History Interest.

Our aim is to further our historical knowledge of the surrounding area. To do that, we pick a theme for each month. The members share with those attending the meeting, any relevant resources they have which are linked to the theme of the month, including information discovered through individual research. The more historical contributions made by members, the better the session.

Our members not only take an active role in our meetings, but also contribute to planning them by suggesting themes and speakers. Specific tasks needed for every session, such as newsletter accounts, setting out tables and refreshments are carried out by volunteers from the membership.

From time to time, we may have a speaker come in to talk to us about an aspect of Local History.

The group is led by Diane Wallace
