Annual Christmas Lunch 2024

We again, held our u3a 2024 Christmas Lunch for around 136 of us at our usual venue, Ye Old Plough House in Bulphan.

On arrival we found our names with table numbers displayed for us to find our companions for the meal

When we were all seated, our Chairman Kevin, welcomed us all to the lunch and thanked our trip organisers for the arrangement. Following on, our pre-ordered starter, main course, and dessert, were delivered swiftly and efficiently by the Ye Old Plough House staff. To round off the meal we were served a cup of tea or coffee.

When we had finished our meal we were entertained by Chris Colman a guitar vocalist specializing in all the best music from the sixties. Chris is a versatile singer/guitarist playing music from the 1950’s through to the 1990’s, covering big band and swing, classic rock ‘n’ roll, pop, funk, disco and country. Chris had entertained us at previous Christmas lunches and at our General Meetings . His music which all know from our youth, encouraged many members to round off the afternoon with a bit of social dancing and singing as we all can remember most of the words.

Good food, good company, in pleasant surroundings ensured our Christmas festivities for 2024 started well as can be seen in the pictures above, Kevin thanked us all for coming and wished us a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from the committee.

Finally on behalf of all our members attending, we thanked the Ye Old Plough House staff for their service. Also many thanks to Christine and Jean for all the planning and organisation they did to achieve another successful Christmas Lunch; it is very much appreciated.
